STOKE ROW DEFIBRILLATOR APPEAL

IF YOU SUFFER A HEART ATTACK IN STOKE ROW TOMORROW, THE AMBULANCE MAY NOT GET TO YOU IN TIME TO SAVE YOUR LIFE.

HOWEVER, IF THERE WERE A DEFIBRILLATOR SOMEWHERE ACCESSIBLE IN THE VILLAGE, YOU HAVE A MUCH INCREASED CHANCE OF SURVIVING.

A defibrillator is a machine that delivers a life-saving electric shock to the heart when someone is having a cardiac arrest. Once open, all you have to do is follow spoken instructions. Given the distance from our nearest ambulance station, we need this equipment in Stoke Row for the use of the whole community.

We have formed a small action group in the hope of raising £3,000 over the next few months to cover the costs of installing the necessary equipment. The model we are considering is suitable for use by anyone, even those with no first aid experience. On 6 February at 19:00 in the Pavilion, we have invited Dick Tracey from the South Central Ambulance Service to deliver a very brief introductory talk on how to use a defibrillator, which we invite you to attend. Light refreshments will be provided.

You can donate here and do please think about GiftAid to increase the value of your donation at no extra cost to yourself.

Alternatively, you could make out a cheque payable to “Stoke Row Sports and Leisure Club Ltd” (who have kindly offered the intermediary of their account).  Please put it, along with your name and address, in a sealed envelope addressed to Stoke Row Defibrillator Appeal and deliver to Stoke Row Stores where there is a collection point.

We hope we can count on your support.
